Hi all,
Just bought this beautiful motor and am trying to get it setup. I know where the wiring harness plugs in but there are two wires on the motor side that I'm not sure what to do with. They are tan/white and green/white. See pics below. Also on the controls there's another type of harness coming out of the box. A couple are blue/white, then a green/white that meet in a plug. Then there is a separate brown/white not on the harness. The female plug is cutoff and was inserted into the end. So... Do these wires plug somewhere on my motor? Do the wires on the motor connect somewhere?

Thanks!

The 2 wires on motor may not connect, the problem is someone has engineered a old style box(trailer button) to a newer motor. The cutoff plug is the output to trim and you will need to run wires back to relays. That control box should have a harness matching those trim colors taped to main harness. Like that Yamaha prop someone installed!!!

The wires with the 3 pin plug do come from the control box and follow the main harness. What I don't know is where this is supposed to connect on the motor. I don't like that this controller doesn't go with the motor, if I undersrand you correctly.

Thank you for your help!

The wires on the engine harness are for a trim sender/trim gauge. You don't have one so they remain un-connected. The 3 wires from the control are for your power trim- The red connects to an un-switched 12 VDC power source (with a 5 amp fuse in the circuit). The other 2 connect to the activator terminal on your power trim solenoids, or relays, whichever you have. Blue/white to the up relay, green/white to the down relay.

I sure appreciate the help. Where would I find on the motor the place where these wires hook up? Will it be a plug, like what would match up to the controller end? Or should there be some unconnected trim wires around? BTW, it may be a little late but the serial number for the motor is 0C281957.

Ok, I traced the wires and here's what I found. The wires come out of the trim and go back into the engine. They go up to the solenoids. I don't see anything coming out to hook the trim harness up to. Here's a few pics, so you can see.

Thanks for the help!

Well I finally found my manual and it looks like I can figure this out. I need a red wire with inline fuse coming from the up solenoid red terminal. The disconnected wires on the motor are the other two leads. Green/white comes from down solenoid, blue/white comes from up terminal (I thought this one was tan/white). So once I add the inline fuse red wire, I'll splice in the connector and be good to go. Let me know if any of this doesn't sound right.

Thanks
