I need to replace the trim pump but I can not get to the part #,, can anyone help me with this ,the Serial is 0C294151. also if I open the manual valve will i be able to close it and use the motor with out fixing it yet
I would think you could use it. As long as you screw the valve back in after you lower the motor it should lock where ever you put it. As for the ser no. if you go to mercury parts express and type in the no. you should get a blow up of the power trim and part no.s and prices.............Jerry
I just checked Mercury parts express and they show three or four units ........single ram, three pin, .............you would have to determine which one you have by the pictures and go from there.
Just don't open the manual release valve while in the water, the hydraulic fluid leaks all over the place making what looks like the Exxon valdez oil spill. Learned this lesson three weeks ago. I'm still waiting for a whole new Power trim assembly, took the whole unit off and I've been lifting the motor in and out of the water. It is a workout to lift it out of the water without a pressured shock or power trim but it is doable on my 75 hp. You might want to consider taking your whole assembly off until the part comes in- makes using the boat a lot easier and friendlier on the environment.
