1990 MERCURY 75 ELPTO TT question

ok my tilt&trim motor has stopped working in the down position how whats the easiest way to get at the motor as it's behind the plate. Look's like if i take out the bottom bolt for the rams or what ever there called i should be able to lift the motor manualy. Or does the motor have to come off the boat

To remove the trim pump assembly, which you'll need to do as the electric motor is retained by a bolt at the 'back' of the assembly, you need to support the engine, remove either the port or starboard clamp bracket, then remove the trim pump assembly.

If you don't already have it, I suggest to procure a service manual.
