1991 2655 CS electronics???

hey guys,
Well the new boat is in & running fine - took her out for our first run on Thursday. We will not talk about my first landing on a breezy day. Thank God for fellow boaters & slip mates!!!!! I did learn that it was a big step up from the 18.5 airslot.
Anyway - what I am hoping to find out is what Fishfinder/sounder/electronics came with the boat? I was left with a Black "U" shaped mounting bracket & 2 cables on the port side dash as well as a puck shaped thru hull transducer under the engine.
I beleive it was OEM because of the location of the transducer & I have seen pics of similar brackets & wires on other bayliners of the same model & vintage.

I do plan on eventually purchasing new(er) electronics i.e. Chaartplotter/sounder combo but with the boat in the water it will be near impossible to attach a new transducer (transom mount ) & I am not sure I am skilled enough to put in a "thru hull".
So, what I would like to do is find out what that original unit might have been so I can utilize the existing wiring & transducer.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think you should just completely forget what was on there 'yesterday' and focus on what you want today. Electronics and electronic packages even a year old are pretty outdated.
Don't concern yourself with installing a transom mount transducer as a LOT of the newer models come equipped with "shoot thru" units. They will simply be attached to the inside of your hull and all the mess is done. There is of course an application process but that should all be explained to you by the sales rep.
Don't sweat the small stuff - the newer electronics coming out these days are just short of amazing and 120% user friendly - including the installation process. Look for what you want and them look some more. You will find something that will fit your needs.

Thanks GC - I am inclined to take your advice. What I am looking at now is getting a combo unit - Fishfinder & GPS chartplotter any suggestios?
The lake (Scuggog) I am moored at is fairly shallow - 1 fathom average - but we have access to the Trent Severn System of locks, rivers & lakes. The fish finder would be primarily for depth the GPS Chartplotter to help me navigate the system.
