1991 60 HP swivel bracket bushings?

I am trying to replace the swivel bracket bushings and can't get the torque tube out any suggestions. (No power tilt and trim)

Of course you do have the nut off the bottom, right? The parts book also shows a "keeper" above the lower mount bracket. I am not familiar with whatever that is.

I don't think we are talking the same bushings, I'm doing the bushings that the steering cable goes through. I have the steering cable out and the 2 nuts on ethier side of the torque tube but I dont think I can get the torque tube out without destroying it.

Oh, the Tilt tube! Yes, they can get pretty wickedly stuck in the stern brackets. Heating the stern brackets may help, but it is difficult to get them hot enough to do any good unless you have an acetelyne torch and a big hammer. Some jobs, I hate. That's one of them.

Yes the tilt tube, sorry. I guess you just beat it out and get a new one.
