Yea I rolled it no sand though just over the top of the 1708 cloth, its pretty rough already plus the roller adds texture to it . Btw if you roll it dont use the foam rollers the gel eats them up in a hurry same as with the resin and starts to leave little pieces of foam all over.
well I got quite a bit done this weekend and man did it feel good to get that much done. I kept waiting for Murphy to show up and just kept thinking I was forgetting to do something but so far so good.
Plenty of ponies there....looking great, looks like the cap fit back fine. I'm jealous...wanna bring your Deere over when I'm ready to set my cap back on?
wish I could, its actually my granddads and that thing comes in very handy especially when we get snow our driveway is almost a mile long so that little deere gets a work out in the winter. We did wrestle with the cap for a couple of hrs. my transom was thicker than the original so I had to do a lot of grinding on the splash well but it tuned out good.
Got this project almost done, its all cleaned up, got a new water pump, carb kits, thermostats, spark plugs, water separator/filter and fresh oil in the L/U.I checked all the lights and electrical and all works but the rear fish finder/depth and the fuel gauge, I will have to try to figure out the fuel gauge for sure but I didn't think tat was to bad considering its been sitting in a barn for several years. maybe next weekend I will try to get it on the water! I definitely could not have done this restore with out this forum I am truly thankful.
