I have a 91 Evinrude 200 XP and the block is shot. I am in search of a new block. Does anyone know if the late 90's ocean pro models will work?
Your location ?---Looking for an assembly , with pistons , rods and crank ?-----What is wrong with your block.----Sleeves are easy to install I believe.
Strange that the housing would " melt " from wear .-----Part # of that housing ?------Or was it a broken sealing ring ?----Just saw the picture and it was a broken sealing ring.-----I have a block just like that.------I have often tried to coach folks on checking crankcase compression.----I believe it is a common failure.----I repaired a V-4 120 HP using a product called ---lumiweld-----An aluminum brazing rod.
I don't know a whole lot about 2 strokes and boats in general but do you think that that would work right there especially when that ring has to go back on?Strange that the housing would " melt " from wear .-----Part # of that housing ?------Or was it a broken sealing ring ?----Just saw the picture and it was a broken sealing ring.-----I have a block just like that.------I have often tried to coach folks on checking crankcase compression.----I believe it is a common failure.----I repaired a V-4 120 HP using a product called ---lumiweld-----An aluminum brazing rod.
Do you mean the rod that got disconnectedAny pictures of the bearing surface of that rod and the crankshaft surface .-----I normally spend time on those sealing rings so they slide easier as the block gets longer from heat.
I do have a picture of the crank bearing where the rod was ejected. But where that housing has melted the piston head and head cover are melted but the walls of the cylinder are a little worn but are not too bad and i might be able to hoan them out.Yes the rod that was disconnected.----That is a sealing ring that broke.----The crankshaft has those sealing rings to keep the 6 crankcases separated.-----That surface must be repaired in one way or another.
