Okay people, I own a 1991 Glastron G1900 which is in great mechanical condition. My wife is making new covers for the seats as the vinyl has started to split in a few places. I recently found a soft spot in the floor and would like to change the floor this winter. I understand I should use 1/2inch pressurised marine ply, but I cant see how to get the old floor out. There are no screws or nails visible. Can anyone tell me how the floor is attatched?
I am guessing that I need to remove the carpet and then might find some screws/nails/staples underneath? This will be my first time ever removing a floor so any hints or things to watch out for?
Where is a good place to get new carpet to install once I get the new floor in place?

Thanks for any and all suggestions

Gary more than likely your floor is goin to be glassed over. So when you pull the carpet you should find a layer of fiberglass with the wood under it. The glass can be cut out with a box cutter fairly easy. Now whether to use marine grade plywood is totally up to you. I used pressure treated lumber and applied a good coat of varnish to avoid the price of marine grade. As for the carpet if you want a cheaper alternative you can use indoor/outdoor carpet found at lowes or home depot.

Many thanks, The floor was glassed over, so I removed it all (even though the soft spot was a small area, I figured I would do it once and do it right!! I did use marine ply that I sealed in fiberglass epoxy before installing, and then fiberglassed over the top.. Installed Marine carpet from Lowes and it looks very nice!! My wife is still making new seat covers, but they also look great but her sewing machine has trouble stitching 3 layers of Vinyl together!! But it's getting there.. Hope to have it finished in a few more weeks, just in time for the warm weather to arrive in Texas!!

Hey Thrasher,
I'm new to boating and just bought a 1992 Glastron G1900. I want to replace the upholstery too. How do I remove the engine compartment cover, back bench seat and side cushions mounted to the inside walls of the boat?
Thanks for your help.
