1991 merc 115 tilt/trim motor prob

I have a 1991 merc 115 and I cant get the tilt to work. There is power going through the solenoid but the motor doesnt make any noise or any movement. I tried tapping the top of the motor which didn't work either. I am wondering how hard it is to remove the motor and how to get it off so I can change it out. Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem with mine!! I took my motor off and opened it up!! It was dirty inside, Soo i cleaned everything all up and it works fine now!!

My problem now is the plastic screw broke on the trim motor!!

what is the easiest way to remove the motor? remove the 4 screws at the top or the 2 at the bottom? will I need to remove the whole assembly just to get the motor off?

To be honest i pulled the whole outboard!!! You cant pull just the trim motor..Atleast i couldnt on my 88 tilt trim!!!
