My buddy picked up a bass cat with a 1991 200 hp (carbed) mercury on the back. Well The previous owner told him it wouldnt get up on plane, so I replaced the fuel line and bulb and in-line filter,since i read about the ethanol damage to those.
Well the previous owner replaced the plugs, wires, stator, that i know of.
My buddy just took it out and it idles fine and gets around fine, but when he go to throttle up, it wont go over 3,000 rpm and will not plane out.
While he had it my house i checked the throttle cables and they seem to be moving smoothly,what else can I check? I have a manual so I can look things up and I have tools and some outboard knowledge
