I thoguht I would add that the engine seemed to perform very well. No missing or hesitations. I'm stumped.

An engine can run fine, but still not be putting out full power.
Instead of asking for more help, did you checkout the items on my list?
Or, did you check out the link Bond-o mentioned?
These are valid issues you need to check, it's not gonna fix itself!

Mike I plan on checking those items while doing a tune-up this weekend. I'm looking for part numbers for the dist cap and rotary button. Thanks for your input though. Maybe try reading next time

I guess you don't have access to the boat, it's not in your driveway? You mean the cap, & rotor, a local NAPA store should have all you need, or a Merc. dealer, unless you wanna go online? I'd hafta dig up some links.

It's stored at the marina about 60 miles away. Unfortunately you;re right I dont't have access to it and there are no parts stores close to the marina. I'll give Napa a shot. thank you!~
