I am leaking hydraulic fluid and the motor is now stuck down. I am pretty sure it is out of the tilt cylinder, as it worked fine when I filled the reservoir. next time out I was putting out an oil slick and then the motor wouldn't go up. Anybody know how hard is it to put a seal kit in this unit?

With an OEM service manual on hand its fairly easy. Without a manual it would be like walking through a mine field....Dont try it!

Good Luck!

I have a Clymer manual...is that detailed enough? I am fairly comfortable doing mechanical stuff if I have good info on assembly and procedures. What do you think of the Clymer manuals?

I personaly like the OEM manuals best they are motor specfic. Unlike clymer and seloc. that cover dozens and can become confuseing.

But if you feel confortable with it then by all means go for it.

If you do have further questions on your T & T then Iam sure someone on the forum will jump in and give you a hand.

Good Luck!

Can you see where the fluid is actually leaking from Gern? Should be sure before tearing into it.
I would suggest a OEM service manual for a job like this. The generics are good for minor things but many times you have to be able to determine if any part of the manual your working from is dealing with your engine or not. OEM's give specific info on your engine. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the reply's. Looking at this manual I am not really comfortable with the specific information on this model. If I decide to tackle this myself I will get an OE manual.
And I am not positive as to where it is leaking from. If only I could get the motor up again.....

You can Gern....open the manual release valve and lift it by hand. I believe the release is accessed through the port transom bracket. Look for a larger hole with a screw head looking at you. Take a screw driver and open it 2-3 turns and you should be able to lift it.
