1992 115 merc warning beep

I have a 1992 Merc that started with a warning tone from the panel yesterday. My father was using the boat and this is what he tells me:
The warning tone is there when key is turned to run position with or without motor started. It also does this when it is cold or hot. Motor seems to run fine and there is water circulation with no over-heat problems. Checked oil and it is full. Can someone help?

my '90 75hp started doing the same thing last season. I was told to check the temp sensor and wiring. I am waiting on a manual to come in. Did the controls get wet? That is when mine started.Also is it a beeping sound or a constant alarm?

I am also having a overheat warning horn problem but what mine is doing is when I turn the key to run the horn sounds very, very, very, faint sounding can barely hear it. So I went to the motor and grounded out the tan wires and the horn does the same thing it is very very faint sounding and doesn't seem to want to sound but faintly, when I ground the tan wires out I also get a tap instead of the horn sounding and sometimes the horn sounds stops but never is loud very faint sounding. I own an Evinrude 88 SPL but I am trying to get help myself on my warning horn problem so I went to this side for help becuase I believe the warning horn is probably hooked up the same with different motors, I believe. CAn you guys help me out in troubleshooting it. Thanks, maybe we can help each other out with our warning horn problems

I traced mine today and pulled the low oil warning module. Mine was faintly beeping and I pulled it off of the motor and squeezed it. It stopped beeping, it is saturated in oil. I am goin to clean it tomorrow, will let you know what happens.
