Yep, you need a good manual. Other than that, I've never heard of 6 coils all going bad on one motor.

If, in fact, all 6 are cold, I would look at the ignition switch and safty kill switch to start.

If not that, then I would move to the stator and timing base.

i also checked the kill switch and have continuity with switch pulled like its supposed to be so my guess is stator, also someone told me there was an ignition fuse, but i can't find it

Unplug the large red cannon plug. If you have spark the problem is from the plug forward.

Caution -- check spark only. If you try to start it and it does you will have no way to shut it off other than flooding it.

Re: 1992 200xp evinrude

The large red cannon plug is what connects the boat harness to the engine wiring harness. Look on the port side of the powerhead, you'll see it. Once you unplug it you will seperate the motor's electrical from the boat (key switch, kill switch etc) so turning the key on or off will have no effect.

You check spark from the coils. If you dont have a spark checker and a remote starter switch it may be better to have a tech look at it.

Once again -- be very careful. If you disconnect the harness and try to start the motor by jumping the solenoid and it starts -- you'll have no way to shut it off other than flooding it. If you dont have water to it you may damage a lot more than whats already wrong.
