1992 Bayliner Capri steering & throttle cables?

On my boat equipped with a 90hp Force outboard the steering is really hard. I greased the rear bars and it helped but it is still not easy to turn.

When I was pulling in to my dock and put the boat in reveres it went forward instead. No matter what I do it only goes forward. I am assuming these are both cable issues?

Opinions on what this may be other than the cables, where I should buy them from and how hard is it to replace each one?

Thanks in advance. Love this place!

i cant think of any other opinion other then cables. two separate problem. sorry dude - its cables . your steering cable is rusted up inside the casing and grease will never reach it and the shift cable is mostikey broken so it only works proper one way. you could check to make sure the shifter is adjusted properly however.

Thanks Captain, that's my thoughts exactly.

Now I have to find out some info on the engine, etc. to order the correct cables.
