1992 evinrude 200 xp choke solenoid

primer choke solenoid is not working is there a fuse for this or do i need to start tracing the wiring and checking voltage the engine is a 1992 evinrude 200xp. im having to manually turn the lever on the solenoid to get it started . the battery needs charging so i cant do any voltage checks yet just wondering if theres a fuse for this thanks

What happens when you run a jumper wire and 12 volts to the primer solenoid valve ?----Does it click , yes or no ?----There is only one fuse and if motor cranks it is good.-----That solenoid is NOT a pump and motor must be cranking for it to work properly.----Key is to be pushed in and held in while cranking the motor over.

That primer valve was used on most electric start motorsJohnson / Evinrude from 1980 to 2005.----Even on 9.9 models.-----Most dealers will have good used ones on hand.----E-BAY has lots too.

I know the book says to check for 12 volts coming into the valve which i havnt had a chance to do yet but if theres 12 volts coming in then the solenoid is bad im assuming?
