you can test your pump by a. disconnecting the outlet and pointing into a cup away from fire and eyes and spinning the motor, you should see fuel pluse out. b. put a inline pressure gauge from pump to carb and see pressure 2-5 psi. running Note: on the pulse line you should not be able to blow in air nor suck air out, crankcase pulsations act on the diaphram to create pumping action to move fuel, the line going to the crankcase should not collapse as well, pretty sturdy. If you opened everything up it's always a good idea to have a rebuild kit handy, as i remember there is a poppet valve or two in the mix as well. dissasemble everything blow everything out.
