Hey folks I have a 1992 evinrude 200hp xp model# ve200slens

I thought I had no spark, pulled all the plugs and I have spark on cylinder #4 that's it.

I've disconnected the red plug,no change.
I've disconnected both kill wires no change
starter turns the motor over healthily
compression is 95psi on all 6 cylinders

Here are my test results ohm testing the stator (I do not have a dva but intend to get one). It appears there is some black goop on the back of the motor where the stator wires run down. I believe the stator is bad considering I get no readings when ohm testing. Any help would be great.

Orange to orange black: 107ohms
Brown to brown yellow #1:1018 ohms
Brown to brown yellow #2: 1022 ohms

Connector #1
White to purple: no reading
White to blue: no reading
White to green: no reading

Connector #2
White to purple: no reading
White to blue: no reading
White to green: no reading
Black white to white: 225 ohms

I forgot to mention, boat was running just fine, went out one day, got to my spot and it wouldn't start back up when I was ready to leave. It's been a little hard to start the last few trips out, but never had a no start issue.

When I originally checked for fire, I had spark on 1 and 2, all plugs out checking. Now I've only got spark on #4, all plugs out checking.

Find out what the CDI electronics part number is for your stator. Go on the net and plug in installation and trouble shooting with the part number. You will get the information on testing that you need.

Here's my test results. From what I can tell the stator is shot I have no tested with a dva since it has not arrived. But since I have no readings on the stator wires I can only assume that's a strong sign that it has failed. Tested per the cdi instructions

I take that back, my brown, yellow and orange wires on my stator seem to have the correct readings aside from the dva test I haven't done yet.

The two large connectors from the timer base seem to have no ohm readings. Has anyone had a timer base completely fail, no spark on any cylinder?

Timer base's fail pretty often...usually run good to first spot then wont restart.is good test. Replaced 3 this year

Thank you sir, you always seem to chime in when I have issues with an outboard and I appreciate it.

I'm leaning towards the timer base, ran fine to first spot and wouldn't restart. It's been a bear to start as of recently, but seemed fine after it would kick off the first time of the day. Rechecked all of my OHM values yesterday and the only plugs I get nothing from are on the timer base (aside from the white/black to the white wire that value is correct). The powerpack seems good, and the stator seems to have the correct resistance values.

So timer base is on order.

Alright folks, I tried new triggers - No change
Tried a new powerpack - No change
Checked shift interruptor switch and it is working properly also

Retested the stator, and realized it's a CDI stator not a factory, the Ohm resistance on the org/org blk wires is double what the CDI test chart says it should be for that brand stator. The brown/brown yellow wires were about 10-12ohms higher than the max also.

I do have spark on 1, 5 and 6 - It is extremely weak spark and I missed it in the daylight, noticed it at night.

Am I right in thinking that if the resistance is too high on the Org-Org black wires that this could be my issue?
