OK, heres the deal, I have a 1992 90 hp force outboard and well its about to drive me crazy!! its on a 15 ft open bow trihull with a 13 pitch prop on it. It starts up fine, but as soon as i give it throttle it bogs and dies. Now every once in a while it would get up to plane and my top speed was around 30mph. I took it to the local shop and they informed me that my timing was 10 degrees advanced so they set it to the 32 degrees and said it should run like a champ. Well, not so, i took it out and had the same issues but this time i took the cover off the motor and it seemed to act just fine, no hesitation at all however now i have lost 15 mph off my top speed
maxing out around 13 to 15 mph!! the motor has around 115 compression and i know thats a little bit low but
any ideas?? its heading back into the shop monday to add a few more $$ to this on going tab!! he thinks it might be the prop? spun hub?? but seeings how i was just doing over 30mph last time i was out, i doubt it.
