1992 johnson 150 hp fast strike compression

anybody got an ideal of what the compression should be?
buying this motor monday and guy that has it says all cyclinders have 90 psi
is that a good compression check?

Yep, the hp was in the title. 90 is a good number but (don't ya hate the "but" deal?) there's a couple of things to keep in mind. The 60* motors had staggered head chambers so the compression numbers won't be exactly the same for all 6 cylinders. And OMC never published an actual number. So....that leads us to think that possibly the seller may, possibly, be optimistic about the static readings.

Basically a very, very good design. One of, if not the best design OMC came up with. Lots of power, quick to rev up, great efficiency. If it checks out I'd bet you'll be very pleased.
