 Our 1992 Johnson Fast Strike 150 will be running fine and then just die. Can wait a few minutes and will start again, run for awhile, dies. Checked the plugs today after it had died and got no spark. Before we start replacing parts, are there some easy tests to run to try to isolate the problem without tearing into the engine? Any suggestions will be appreciated. We have already checked the fuel system and it is all good to go.

I'd do the easy stuff first like checking the ignition switch and powerpack. You can check the ignition switch by disconnecting the black and yellow wire from the power pack. If it doesn't die, it's the ign. switch. If the powerpack is getting hot and breaking down, you can run the engine on the muffs and warm the powerpack up with a hair drier and see if it fails.I'm bettin' on the powerpack.

g'luck & c/6

Hooty

Thanks for the reply. We got a new powerpack to install. Will let you know if that solved the problem. ;)
