1992 johnson plug wires

need to replace my wires , 1 broke so replaceing all of them. seen a lot of different colors
, black ,grey,blue.....which one? 1992 Johnson 175

If it was myself I'd get the original plug wires from BRP.

They should be copper cored but what difference does the color make ?

They are NOT copper wires !!!

There are a couple of critical items you need to be aware of on these engines. First, the spark plug wires need to be the gray inductive resistor wires - these are not automotive wires. Secondly, the spark plugs should be the factory recommended QL78YC. Use of other spark plugs or wires can cause problems inside the power pack from RFI and MFI noise. "

And the inductive HT cable can be identified by being gray, hence the importance of using the correct color ?

Thanks I did not know that . I assumed the color was purely aesthetic.

What color should be used for a points ignition system ?

Any color as long as it's copper cored. Usually it's black.
