It's been way too long. I've had these pictures forever and I don't get much time anymore. Below is a post that I made back in October 2015. I apologize that it's taken this long. These are the pictures that go along with that post.

SBFE2KIT from CVFRacing.com $152
Power steering pulley from Ebay $115
Assorted thickness washers and different legth bolts $10
Machining done locally to modify alternator pulley $30
New Belts (different sizes than stock) $30
It's not a complete bolt on kit. I had to shave .1 inches off the back of the alternator pulley, add washers in key places and change the power steering pulley depth on it's shaft. I also had to ADD a custom thickness circular shim to the shaft of the STOCK Prestolite alternator. It's not hard to do these things, it's was just time consuming. The end result was totally worth it. No more shredded belts and it looks 100% better.
If I can get some more time, I want to make a video that will explain all the details of how I did it. Time is not something I have a lot of these days.
Another note: I contacted CVF before I even started this project to see if they would machine a custom set of pulleys for me and the answer I got, at that time, was that demand drives supply, or in other words, if they don't have enough interested parties they won't invest the time to make them. I received the same response from the Ebay seller of the power steering pulley, not enough demand equals no manufacturing.
Old and the New
For comparison, new crank pulley is about 5.375" and OLD crank pulley is about 6.125. This is an UNDERDRIVE PULLEY SET from CVF Racing.
Original bolt protrusion on the water pump pulley.
Original water pump pulley bolt protrusion on new pulley. TOO SHORT, NOT ENOUGH GRIP!!
Measuring NEW water pump pulley diameter. 6.125"
Old water pump pulley diameter is about 6.25"
Comparison of new and old alternator pulleys.
The hole of the old alternator pulley is 16 mm. TAKE NOTE THIS IS IMPORTANT!
The new alternator hole is 17mm. The seller would not manufacture a different pulley for me, so I had to make do.
The old power steering pulley is 5.6875"
New power steering pulley from Ebay Seller is about 5.625
Showing the distances in height of the power steering pulleys. I shimmed the old power steering pulley on the right to match up the belt centers.
Looks like we are going to have to play around with component positioning to get the belts aligned.
Same thing with the alternator pulleys, there is a difference in height. Pulleys are shimmed to get belt grooves centered. I ENDED UP SHAVING .1 INCHES OFF THE BACK OF THE ALTERNATOR PULLEY. I will say that again: 1 tenth of an inch. I had to get a local machine shop to do this for me.
Just illustrating how I measured and compared the centers so I could set them up right.
The problem here is that the original pulley sits flush against the alternator fan. I am still using the original PRESTOLITE alternator which has a 16mm shaft.
Original alternator pulley is about 2.8 inches
New pulley is about 2.6875 inches
Old pulleys were soooo ugly.
Look very closely at the center of the new pulley, I've fabricated a shim. to take up the extra space.
This is the material that I used. I was able to pick it up from my local hardware store. The length I had to cut was 17 mm x Pi = 53.38 mm or 2.101 inches. If you screw it up, you have more to try with. I took my time and when I was finished I used a socket to help roll it into a rough shape. Then I had to modify it again....... see below.
There is a wooddruff key on the the alternator shaft. I wanted to keep the locking feature, so I modified my pulley using a crude yet effective method. The shim I filed away until the fit was perfect.
And how did I do that? I didn't take it back to the machine shop...... And don't forget I did not change the hole diameter, I only made the relief cut for the key on the alternator shaft.
Slow and steady using a metal cutting blade. The pulley is aluminum so it didn't take much pressure to remove about .020 worth of material.
That's all for now, there are more pictures. This is the half way point. What follows is how and where I shimmed the brackets and power steering pump so that the pulleys run true. At this point you can install the pulleys, but the belts will be way off. I will try to get to the rest of them tonight.
