I am told I should look at getting a new prop - My boat is gutless when pulling my 2 kids on a 3 man Sea-doo Tube (on water type). I have a hard time getting them out of the wake sometimes. I am told to either change the pitch or go to a 4 blade. - any advise would be appreciated
Thank you,

you need to post top speed and RPMs at WOT. also pitch and diameter of your current prop. you may want to consider trim tabs also..they really help getting on a plane pulling tubers.

I wish I could tell you. I am new to boating, and have only had the boat for one year. I believe the prop is stock. The boat as a 3.0l Mercruiser Alpha One. Today when I was pulling my kids I was running about 4000 rpm at full throttle and was barely planing. The speedometer does not work so I would be guessing on speed. I can tell you we were running at about 70% of the speed we would have been without the tube.

so I guess your normal RPM top speed with no tuber is in the high 4k rpms?? if so your prop is about right. trim tabs will be a big help for you.

1) Performance issue you are trying to correct.
2) Current prop manufacturer, model, aluminum or stainless as a minimum.
3) Current prop diameter and pitch (required).
4) Wide open throttle RPM and speed with an average load (very helpful)
5) Engine/drive make, model, year, and HP
6) Boat make model, year, length and weight

If you could provide more info. / details on current setup, we could be more helpful. You need to become more familiar with your boat so we can diagnose correct your issues. Thanks.
