Greetings All-

Newbie to this sight
Just Purchased a 1993 140 Ocean Runner

I am having a loss of power issue. I think it may have to do with the water pump and overheating. The stream exiting the engine is weak at best in my opinion. The water is very warm. The problem seems to appear after a short run of a couple of miles in choppy conditions. Can anyone give me some ideas of what to check I have changed all fuel filters and plugs. I have checked for any blockage around the intake Also is this a good engine with a solid history or does this engine have gremilins that I need to know about.

Thanks

Welcome to iboats.
If the motor is new to you and unknown mechanically you need to do the following.
Water pump service and replace impeller. Check thermostats.
Compression check
Spark check
Fuel delivery check
Look at current spark plug color and condition.
This will give you a base guide to begin with and at least a starting point for your motor.
Your loss of power could be one or many of a number of things.
Post back your findings for all to review and comment on.
