We have successfully rebuilt the exact same motor and it runs beautifully thanks to some good info on this forum. Thanks guys.
I have another same motor from a Nitro that my son and I are rebuilding. This one has already been bored to 30 over and needs sleaving. We would greatly appreciate any input on this.
The crank and parts all measure good so I think it is worth looking at to rebuild.
We will post the before and after on this Nitro.
Thanks in advance.

It won't clean up at .040? Sleeving is kinda expensive....

Re: 1993 150 Fast Strike.

Thanks for the response DH.
I will give it a thorough going over tomorrow. 5 a side isn't very much but it may be enough. It will give my boring guy fits I'm sure.
Will let you know.
Thanks again.

Re: 1993 150 Fast Strike.

Hi DH.
Measured all bores and results are:
All at 30 over and measuring horizontally and vertically.
#1. 0 +1.
#2. -0.5 +0.5. (yes the minus is correct)
#3. +2.5 +0.5.
#4. +2.5 0.
#5. +0.5 +2.5.
#6. 0. 0.

I can see that some will clean up with a light hone but I am concerned about out of round and bore limits. I don't have those. Would very much appreciate your opinion.

Thanks.

Re: 1993 150 Fast Strike.

When checking a cylinder measure 1/2 in down from the top,the middle and about 3/4-1 in below exhaust port. Most wear will be around the port areas due to side forces applied to piston. If cylinder is more than .003 out, bore it the next oversize. Your bore at .030 over should measure 3.630, so anything 3.634 and up needs boring. A .040 overbore will measure 3.640. If you need pistons let me know as I carry a .040 that is cast like OEM not forged like Wiseco.

Thanks Faztbullet. Looks like hone three and bore three.

The run / wear tolerance is .004" over standard. Standard is 3.601", some early manuals state 3.600".

Re: 1993 150 Fast Strike.

We have elected to go to 40 over on all cylinders. Probably get a better motor at the end.
Thanks a bunch to all that have responded to my questions.
Merry Christmas.
