both side panels replaced and reupholstered. There is a little problem with throttle lever, it does not go in not engaged gas position. it shifts fine when clutched, but reuses to shift when I push the disengaging button. will have to take it apart and look insude.

That's the whole point of the button. It's not supposed to shift when you push in the button.
Im sorry, i was not clear in my previous post, i said the throttle lever does not shift, when the button is pushed. I thought that like on my other throttle controls, pushed in button allows to add gas to the carb mix, without engaging the outdrive gears. And the lever should move the same way with the button pushed in or without. At least it does work like this on my other boats. Am i wrong?

That's not what you originally said. Yes pushing in the button allows you to add throttle without shifting.

Are you saying you can't move the lever even when pushing in the button?

Upholstery work looks good.

How'd this go?
I did drill a couple holes around the engine supports on the stringers and the transom. The shavings were dry, also slightly brownish. Im not going to tear the deck apart and replace the transom.

New seats, had to redo them from the scratch. The only parts that were reused, were foam cushions and metal hardware, hinges, sliding pipes on the botton

I am trying to remove the speedometer from the dashboard, but the shelf that is located under the dashboard does not allow any access to the back of the dashboard panel. This shelf is carpeted, so its removal will require removing the carpet. Is there an easy solution to accessing the panel? I will make photos of the panel and the shelf.
another question is removal ofbthe steering wheel. There are several hex bolts holding it, but they are sitting very solid. I tried to torque them, but affraid to strip or break the bolts. Any ideas?

I can move the throttle lever when i push the horizontal button on the lever handle. Throttle lever goes forward and reverse without any problems. However, when i try to add the throttle without shifting, pressing the button does not let me move the lever.

You have to push both buttons when moving the lever without shifting. Both the one on the handle and the one at the base of the lever.

Shoot, I was cleaning the carpet and was finishing the last couple square feet of the carpet when I mixed up to spray containers and instead of a carpet cleaner I sprayed with the diluted fiberglass cleaner. The carpet now looks oily and I tried to clean with the carpet cleaner, did not do much. Any good carpet cleaning solutions? Should I try to soak this patch of a carpet in warm soapy water and then scrub it with the carpet stain remover? Thx

Finally put the engine in and after some setbacks and a couple days of work on the distributor, timing and the throttle lever got the engine purring like a kitten. It sounds very smooth, which was what I hoped for, since the engine was completely rebuilt. Now there are several minor things left to be done and the boat will be completely restored.

by the way the throttle control box was not working right. Had to take it apart and change the position of the linkage bracket.

One of the last things, I tried to tear up the old carpet and it looks like the old carpet was glued pretty well. I tried to reap the carpet off and the glue holds strong, leaving the shreds of carpet on the floor. Is there any way to soften up the glue to help its removal? Thank you.
