We have a 1993 Evinrude 90hp on a 17' ski boat. Couple weeks ago we had it out with the kids tubing, after starting and stopping a million times switching tubers it began to only start while throttling it while starting. At the end of the day it started to miss a little bit then while loading it wouldn't stay running long enough to load it easily. I thought it was just about out of gas. Fast forward to this past Saturday we got the boat out of storage and filled up the gas tank (wasn't empty). Took it home and started it on the muffs. Seemed fine so we headed to the lake. Put it in the water and then it wouldn't start. Took forever to get it started, I thought I had flooded it. Finally did start then ran great, got up on plane just fine. Ran around the lake then anchored and swam for few hours. Got ready to leave and same thing, would not start. Tried choked, not choked, throttled and not. It started twice, once while the drive was not engaged and let it run at half throttle for awhile then tried to engage drive and it died. Second time did same thing but it engaged and went about 20 feet and died. Then it would not start at all. Had to get towed back by the great Wappapello Park Rangers. I was looking at it this evening, the bulb was soft and I was able to squeeze it a couple times before it got hard. Pulled the plugs (they were new have about 6 hours on them) and they are oil/gas fouled. I dont' even know how to ID which 90hp it is that I have. I understand there are several different models? It is a 2 stroke, V4. Any ideas? Thanks
