Bought a 93 maxum with a 4.3..
Engine was replaced 3 years ago. New engine got hydro locked and previous owner pulled it and removed intake. Been sitting in his shop for 2 years.
Puller off risers and exhaust manifolds, evidence of water in cylinder 5 and 6. Pulled heads and no blown gaskets..although the riser gaskets are suspect. Pressure tested risers to 50 psi and no leaks. Went to look for shutters in exhaust as I was running out of reasons for water in oil. Right side shutter is completely missing.
Boat was stored on a lift in the water with outdrive slightly above the water. It is possible that waves could splash into outdrive. I have ordered gaskets and shutters and will reassemble and test..
How many oil changes to rid the engine of excess milkshake?
Do you think the missing shutter could be the root cause?
Thanks in advance.
