1993 Mercury 135 v-6--What is this?

I have a 93 powerhead I have installed on my 88 base. This is a 135hp. There is a line that connects the carbs and is about 2' long. at the end is a fitting marked "E" and " C". E goes to the carbs.. Does anyone know what this is. I am finished putting everything back together, except for this.,I can't find anything in Seloc..Thanks, Rich

I did find out it is a thermal air valve hose..But I still dont know where it connects. Rich

The thermal air valve is installed in the starboard cylinder below the No. 3 spark plug. The hose goes on the outer port. Nothing connects to the inner port.
