1993 OMC Cobra 5.0 - Which water fuel separator?

Hello,

Trying to figure out which fuel filter I need to purchase for a new to me boat. I'm stuck between Sierra 18-7789 or Sierra 18-7989. The engine is a 1993 OMC Cobra 5.0 V8. Having a hard time finding part numbers. Thank you

I think the top one is a finer 10 micron filter, the bottom one probably 20 micron, which is fine for carburated applications, for an EFI engine you'd want the 10. So if you have a carb engine you can use either. I have used these for years and only had a problem once when the threads were not cut right. Tip: make sure it threads on BEFORE filling it with gas!
