1993 40 hp omc not firing. coils ohm good at 0.05 primary and 300 ohms on secondary. compression 323 both holes. says to remove black/yellow or black/white wire from power pack to terminal to check firing. CONFUSED because black/yellow wire seems to be coming from kill switch to master plug at power pack any help appreciated. also trigger ohms at 1100 ohms and stator ohms at 3400 ohms.

power pack? Some of the '93s have the power pack under the flywheel, and those might have a shorter life span.

you can disconnect the kill wire black/yellow to see if spark returns, but thats probably not you issue. get a service manual and follow the troubleshooting section for ignition. first thing is to determine if the pack and charge coil are putting out 150v+ when cranking

removed black/yellow from kill switch. still not firing. do you know what EACH wire from pack to ground should read.

you need the manual and a dva adapter. $25 each or less on ebay. clip the postive lead of the meter to one of the primary terminals. crank the motor. should be around 200v cranking. 250v for the charge coil leads (brown and brown/yellow)
