1993 OMC problems

I am considering a 1993 Chris Craft with a 5.8L OMC drive. The motor is blown and will need to be replaced - I have access to a fresh 5.0L Ford marine motor. My question is: will this 5.0L work with the ratio? As well, is this one of the "Volvo" drives? If not, what is needed to convert to Volvo and what drive with the 5.0L?

Howdy,

Your best bet is to find a boat with either a VP or Mercruiser engine/drive in it.

There are other parts for early 90's Cobras that are getting scarce. The only thing that can happen is that they get "scarcer" !

Drive ratio's are different 5.0=1.59:1 and 5.8=1.41:1
