1993 V6 Evinrude question

I just purchased my first boat. It is a 19ft Alumaweld Jetsled with a 150 V6 Evinrude pump. Everything seems to run fine. My friend who has a 115 Merc told me there is no water coming out of the pee hole. Where is it? I have the two exhaust holes with a plug in between just below the power head on the back. Is this where water should be coming out? As you can tell my knowledge is very limited so I could use any help. Thanks.

I don't see anything coming out of the back. No water streaming out like my friends 115.

When you are standing behind the boat, so that the motor is directly in front of you, the "back" of the engine is closest to you. In the back of the engine are the cylinders. There should be 3 on the right and 3 on the left. Between the cylinders, there should be a metal plate. In the right lower corner, there will be a discharge hose. THIS IS ONLY ON CROSSFLOW MOTORS. For Luper motors, the discharge hose is on top of every cylinder head.

So with this type of engine does it blow water out of the exhaust?

Rags, It is common for the pee hole to get plugged. On your motor it comes off the top of the head. Take the motor cowling off and it will be a small line, about a 1/4" in dia. run to the housing compartment on the left side. Take a small piece of wire and push in the hole from the outside when the motor is running on the hose muffs. Yes your engine has a regular thermostat and water will come out of the hub on the prop when at temperature. The pee hole is commonly reffered to as a tale tale,as in tatling if the motor is not getting enough water. Loper<br /> A bad day fishing os better than a good day at work

THE TELL-TALE INDICATOR IS THAT CENTER PLUG YOU SPOKE OF EARLIER REMOMVE THE PLUG AND CLEAN.

Clymer publishes a good manual. You can purchase them at just about any boat dealer that handles your brand. You can also get them from West Marine. (www.westmarine.com).
