I have a new to me 93 L250 txrr that is overheating on the starboard side. Impeller and pressure valve were replaced and thermostats tested and opening properly. I used a heat temp gun and was getting readings of 199F to 180F top to bottom on the starboard side after idleing on muffs for 10 minutes. The port side head was showing temps in the 130's. My pee stream is also weak compared to other Yamahas I have owned. My thoughts are that there must be a restriction in the head and that I need to pull the head. Are there any other water passages that could cause this scenario? Is there anything I should try before removing the head? (I already tried salt away no luck)Thanks for your help.

Re: 1993 Yamaha L250 txrr Overheating Stbd side

first replace the water pump and housing as nessasary, clean the pressure control valve pocket and replace the grommet, change the t-stats and retest.
loss of water pressure at low speeds leads to stbd side upper cyl overheat and piston damage.
