i have 1994 110hp Johnson it starts up and runs as long as you hold the choke in after you hold the choke in for a min. its starts to flood and you have to release the choke and after a minute or 2 it starts to alarm (a steady alarm). Anybody have any ideas what it might be.
Thanks, Chris

Check the enrichener valve, is it cracked? A solid beeeeep means overheat, no oil or possibly fuel restriction if equipped.

As jefferson notes, it is either an oil pump warning or an overheat. (The fuel restriction warning was only on the V6 engines.) The overheat warning goes off if the engine reaches 212 degrees. Check it with a laser temp gun-you can rent one from a local auto parts store.

Thanks for the info, I think it may be in the oil because somebody (the previous owner) has taken the oil injector off of it, and I dont think its an overheat because it starts alarming pretty quick after I get it running, I dont think it would run long enough to reach 212. Im gonna dig a little deeper today. Thanks again for info.

If the previous owner disconnected the VRO pump, make sure they disconnected electrical pigtail on the oil side of the pump. As the other have said, a solid beep is overheat alarm. Intermittant beep would be low oil.
