I've got a 1994 200hp Merc. Over the weekend the mechanic left the engine cover off of the engine, and we had some rain. I know this can't be good for the engine, wires etc. But do I have anything to worry about here?

Depending upon the amount and intensity of the rain, it MAY have been possible for a 'drop' of water to have entered the carb(s) thru a vent.

Usually the motor is left with some slight amount of trim so I wouldn't worry about water in the motor.

Start it up, warm it up to evaporate and dry all exterior surfaces.

If the motor idles well once warmed, drop it into gear and make sure that it idles fine in gear also. If so, then most likely there is not going to be any problems, consider it a lesson learned.

If it does NOT idle well in gear, then shut it off, level the motor, remove the float bowl drain screws one at a time, while each drain is open (one at a time), pump the primer bulb and 'flush the bowl clear, reinstall the plug and go on to the next carb. Remember there is a drain on each side of each carb.

This should flush out any possible drop of water that may have been restricting the idle jet.

Restart the motor and retest idle in gear.

Thanks for the response CharlieB. That puts my mind at ease, I'll do as you suggest over the next weekend.
