I have a 1988 aquasport 222 CC with a 1994 200hp evinrude, the propeller on this motor is 14 1/4 X 19, boat runs 48mhp at 5000 rpm, I also have an extra 14 1/4 X 21, if I replace the propeller with the 21p, my rpm will be higher or lower than 5000 RPM? I think I will gain more speed but how will I do with RPM. I really appreciated any help.
Thank you

I don't know what WOT on that motor is suppose to be butI would imagine it should be closer to 5500 RPM. With the 21 deg prop you will drop RPMs several hundred and will not go as fast because you are not letting the motor develop full HP.
http://boatfix.com/how/props.html

Should I lower the pitch to get 5800 rpm at WOT?
Thanks

We need one of the experts with figures here. To get to 5800 RPM you would have to go to about a 13 deg pitch and that just doesn't sound right for that motor. Is the motor mounted correctly on the boat? Where is the cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of the hull? Are you sure you are firing on all 6 cyc at WOT?
