So i was going down river moving from one fishing spot to another and my oil alarm went off...so I shut engine down..my main resivour is empty but my tank at engine is full. My question is this....can I use main engine to get back to dock

Main tank is on the motor. Alarm is activated when the main tank is low.

Remote oil tank has nothing to do with the alarm.

If the main tank is filled and the alarm sounds then more than likely it is the alarm for over temperature.

If the alarm is sounding the motor should be turned off. That is, don't let the motor keep running if the alarm is sounding

Ok so the remote tank is empty and the main tank at engine is full...when alarm went off the arrow moved over from the full icon to the oil symble on my gauge

That is telling you to add oil to the tank in the boat. Alarm should not be sounding.

Odd thing is it didn't do it again...and my engine has great flow of water through it and it wasn't hot
