Hello all
I have a 1994 Bayliner Capri with a Mercruiser 5.0 V8
It happened a couple of weeks ago.
I was out on the water enjoying when I started hearing this soft knock in the rear of the boat.
And last week I was out and the knocking stopped and within a minute it sounded like a bearing/grinding was shot in the rear of the boat
So I returned back to shore straight away.
It happens regardless if Im in gear or neutral and happens when the engine is running but at the rear of the boat.
I don't think its the engine ???
Anything I can do to check what It could be.
Your help in this matter would be great appreciated
Kind regards Steve

Time to pull the drive and inspect the bellows for water that rusted out the gimbal bearing. Not advisable to run with this condition. If water did get in there the knocking could be the U joints getting ready to self-destruct
