I agree with the rocket scientests. The tests for all the components are written in the book. They are everyday tests in a repuatable shop. The fly by nite part changers dont have all the testing equipt. However they like to charge the top dollar. Please be sure you let us know thefinal diognosis.Be sure to complain about all excessive billing.A possibility is a piece of trash floating around in your tank,it only needs to be 1/2 inch or smaller to start trouble.Gets sucked up.eng dies,no suction, crap floats around again til picked up.The portable tank is a very good test. You can go strait into the inline fuel filter that I know you checked.

yes they did send out parts to be tested...and your right about these sorry *** wanna be mechanics...i just want to get my boat back so i can figure it out myself, the results must have been good on all parts because they are telling me they had to explain to the testers what it was doing (i guess because there was no problem present), and the test facility said it sounded like a power pack going bad. So since the parts were already off there would be no additional labor to put a new power pack on during reassembly...i know it sounds crazy but just for piece of mind knowing that the power pack is replaced lets me know that if the boat still has a problem then the power pack is not the issue,,,again my question is this... could all or any of my symptoms be caused by the power pack if there was no fuel tank problems such as vapor lock or any trash clogging lines or other possibilities we have discussed previously

Re: 1994 evinrude 120 engine bogs out

this is to all who helped me and replied to my problem... THANK YOU!! i got my boat back from the shop last Wednesday (1 month later) and was able to take it out this past Saturday...i had my remote fuel source, tool kit handy, and my giant list of things to try if and when it started acting up. well thank god i didn't need any of them. the boat ran like a bat out of hell!! the only thing they did in the shop was replace the power pack and spark plugs so i guess (with fingers still crossed) that it was the power pack starting to go bad. i felt guilty because i was abusing the motor trying to get it to act up and all she did was smile and and impress me to no end... i had no idea that motor was that strong!! there was one slight problem though after running wide open for long periods when i would slow down to neutral or shut it off and restart it she would try to cut off or would run a little rough (hiccuping) till she cleared herself out some ...also when trying to get up on the trailer i had to gag it for a split second and she bogged out...i backed it out in the river and opened her up and all was fine, but still sluggish going on trailer any thoughts... Steve
