Hi guys,

I bought this engine on eBay last February and it has served me very well. It recently sat for about a month and the flywheel seized up. After a few other steps I was advised to pull the heads and they look pretty bad. I'd like to know what steps I should take from here, and if I have a DIY project on my hands, or if I should be consulting a pro, or looking for a new powerhead.

Thanks,

Aaron

Dont spend a dime on it till you have the block pressure tested as these are known leakers.....

The # 1 cyl was the big leaker on this mtr. It looks to me like water injestion.

Someone told me to pull the carbs off to get a look at the crankshaft. I was advised that if it's rusted, there's no point in going forward with repairs. I guess that's my next step. Still looking for any input or direction, though.

Figure I'll give this thread one more bump to see if anyone has some helpful advice. I don't think I can pull the powerhead with the tools and experience I have. Gonna try and pull the carbs this weekend and I'll post again after that.

Thanks,

Aaron
