I just got a new to me 1975 Mako 191 with this motor. It was rebuilt by the shop that I got the boat from but I would love more info good or bad about this motor..
This is an economy model of that year's 115 crossflow. Same engine as the 115 without the oil-mixing pump. Has the low output alternator on the base 20 inch models. Power trim was an option. The engine is as good as the maintenance provided by prior owners. If recently overhauled, you should be many years of good service from it. These engines were never known as fuel efficient. It's a strong motor in a small package. It's displacement is only 99 cubic inches, so it puts out more than 1 hp per c.i.
