My trim pump started blowing oil out the cap when trimming up. I purchased a new pump/motor/bracket assembly and replaced the original.

Is there somewhere i can send the pump/motor off to get it rebuilt? With the cost of a new one, i would like to refurbish this one and keep it for a spare.

Are you sure you didn't have it overfilled? If you filled it clear to the top with it down, it will blow the fluid out when you raise it up.

Pump had water contamination in it. Resealed the cylinders, and replaced the pump. New pump does not blow out the top, and no trace of water present now. Old pump runs good, but would blow oil out the cap when the cylinders loaded up. Local dealer said there was a valve bad in the pump he thought, cheaper to replace myself than have him do the work. If i plug the lines and energize the pump, will that test it?
