Please tell me you had the drive down when you ran it. IF you didn't, hopefully you didn't damage anything. ALWAYS put the drive down before starting.

When trimming up, you are probably hitting the trim limit switch designed to keep the drive from trimming up to high. After coming up so far, you have to use the trailer button or override button. However your system is designed.

Depending on the type control, it may still be on the trim button. Push it a little harder and see if it has a second position.

The button is likely on the face plate of the shifter towards the bottom right corner. Have a second look...it's probably there. ;)

is it a quicksilver 3000 control? If it is the button is on the lower right sectioin of the controller. Button is a pain to find.

Post a picture of your control, then we can tell you where the button is. Trust me there is one, you just can't see it.

ok guys i figured it out, its molded in black plastic on the lower right hand corner, after reading and looking more I got a little irritated that i could not figure this out, it was working perfectly fine and I dont guess i paid close enough attention to the guy i bought it off of when he was loading it back on the trailer.
Thanks for your thoughts
this problem of stupidity has been solved
Thanks

Re: 1994 mercruiser alpha 1

i will definitely enjoy the boat, i grew up with a private lake in my backyard...ever since i moved out before college and after high school i have been on the ski boat and jet ski kick. it really spoils a person who grows up on water and then is instantly in a trailering situation.....with that being said i look forward ti being back in it this year after selling my last boat to help fund my late 08 wedding.
Happy boating to all and thanks again for everyones help
Mark
