If you have the tranny out anyway, you should price clutch plate and t/o bearing as they are so easy to change at that point. If you can spring the extra $$, you will be ahead of the game....IMO.

maxima.org is where you want to go. Helpful group who will know max's very well. Guys even took pics of their car for me within a couple hours when I was doing a project and the marker I was using to remember which hose went where turned out to be non-permanent

Re: 1994 Nissan Maxima Transmission/Clutch Help

It was inevitable... The blazer broke down taking the girlfriend to work... It overheated this morning. I have water in the rockerarm return to the throttle body, water in the oil, I bet water in the cylinders and no water in the cooling system. At the best, it is a blown head gasket... The radiator broke in the return connection. Now I just have to get someone to tow me from the church parking to my place (one hour drive) get my director to approve me to work from home or 2 weeks vacation, find a vehicle for the girlfriend to make it to work and me driving around to get parts and such... Plus a ride home for both of us this evening. Ain't this interesting? Stay tune for chapter 2 when I burn the house down...
Sounds like her car fix is going to be definitely cheaper and faster than mine so I'm going that route.

Later!

Re: 1994 Nissan Maxima Transmission/Clutch Help

I was not able to find a manual transmission in the junk yard so I am just going to scrap the car for metal. It is coming apart anyway and I was hesitant to sell it to anyone anyways.

I appreciate everyone's help!
