I just picked up a nice running 200 hp ocean runner...it is a little different that the ocean runners I have now( V4s and one V6 OIS 60 degree looper) this motor doesnt have the OIS ignistion system.....

I ran here today and she is spitting water out of the tell tale very well, water is also coming out of the prop.....but the exhaust ports on either side of the tell tales exit....has no water coming out....is it supposed to?

I ran the motor and watched the temps rise to about 166 in each head , then they fell off back down to about 130-144....telling me the thermostats opened......so everything seems fine....but i am wondering if those ports are supposed to have water coming out.....

another ?

I have receievd several oil tanks with previous motors, but they were never hooked up....

this boat has the oil tank connected and it seems to be working....the tank have a primer bulb.... am i supposed to prime that tank when i first start???? and is there a vent in the tank???

thanks

those ports are for idle relief so not necessarily, the vro tank primer bulb does not have to be primed every time, but if it sits for a period it don't hurt to check if its firm, in time you will get to know it better, strong motor, with care lasts long time, my 93 ( not ocean runner) has never missed a beat.

Take it to the lake and run it and see what happens.
