1994 Suzuki DT140 High Idle Issue

Hello. I have a 1994 DT140 on my pontoon. It has a high idle that we just cannot figure out. Possible causes??

When you say "timing staying to far advanced," what are you referring to? (Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable with oitboards)

spark to the spark plugs going to them before top dead center, instead of after top dead center while at idle.
a timing light hooked to #1 spark plug will show what it is doing

Did this just start or has it always done it?
Have you adjusted the idle screw? Are the cables getting bound up somewhere?
