Good day
I have a 1994 Yamaha 30 horsepower outboard motor. Model # 30ELRS , 6J8 L 460486. It has a manual tilt. I would like to install a power tilt. I have contacted Yamaha and they have told me they do not have a power tilt /trim that would retrofit to this model and that I would may need to look at aftermarket. Can you help me?
Thx Michael

I have the Panther 55 Model and I am not a fan. Its a mechanical linear actuator as opposed to a hydraulic cylinder. Works ok but it's slow and it seems like a failure waiting to happen if water gets in there. At least with hydraulics you can rebuild yourself without too much trouble. On the plus side, the Panther 55 is rated up to 55hp outboards and it has a standard BIA bolt pattern. CMC has a smaller footprint and requires a unique bolt pattern. Everything I've read says the Bob's mini trim unit is the best in terms of quality between them and the CMC.

Not that I know anything about it, but I have see where guys have swapped the swivel/clamp off of a Yamaha 40/50 with factory trim over to a Yamaha 25/30 3 cylinder model. Not sure if it takes some special work to make that fit or if they will bolt right up.
