I am replacing my tps on my 94 yami 250. Is it just a bolt on replacement or do I have to make adjustments with a multimeter when installing?

Why are you replacing it ? Do you have the factory service manual ?

I do have the factory service manual. My motor will jump from 5700 to 4000. If I throttle up and down it will go back to 5700. I was told by a few mechs that it was probably the tps. I was wondering if they might have modified the new tps to just bolt on or do I have to adjust it.

as your going to need the harness adapter and a multimeter to set up the new one why not just test the old one before removing it?
its stated fairly clearly in your manual how to properly test and adjust the TPS voltage. also remember to check the 5v reference voltage and if you use the test harness be aware the wire colors on the test harness dont match the colors on the engine harness, its bit many a tech.
my personal harness has been modified so the correct colors match :).
